Wollombi is, located at the gateway to the Hunter Valley Wine District, first founded in the 1800’s. The town despite its small size is a buzz with social activities and has an active artistic community. Wollombi Valley is famous for its aboriginal heritage, museum, historical buildings, convict history, boutique wineries, market days, wonderful theatrical productions and art exhibitions.

There is so much to see and do; here are just a few suggestions:

  • Visit the wineries and cellar doors of the Wollombi Valley Wine Trail
  • Enjoy a relaxed stroll around the historic village and visit the galleries and museum
  • Exploring Wollombi's historic past including the convict trail
  • Discover Yengo National Park
  • Go 4 wheel driving in the nearby Watagans
  • Take a drive up to Finchley’s lookout and visit wonderfully preserved aboriginal drawing sand rock carvings
  • See the stars and visit Koolang Observatory. Located 24 km from Wollombi on the Road to Sydney Via Peats Ridge.

  • Cattle Sales (first Saturday each month starting at 1pm)
